Job Overview:

Sales Representatives are responsible for developing and maintaining good relationships with our customers, making new contacts, presenting and selling our products, and always taking care of customers at all times. This position will include regional and national customers. The exact duties and responsibilities may vary and include duties and responsibilities not mentioned on this job description.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients
  • Prepare plans of action and schedules for each week to identify specific targets and project the number of contacts to be made
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as required
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts as each situation mandates
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge
  • Responsible for marketing/prospecting and obtaining new customers
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with appropriate customer contacts
  • Provide customer service and support to existing customers to retain existing business and obtain new business through referrals
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with suppliers/mills
  • Obtain and communicate orders and appropriate customer product and delivery requirements
  • Complete appropriate administrative functions including timely submission of expense reporting; review and follow up on past due accounts; obtain required documentation for customer and mill accounting
  • Communicate appropriate customer service issues or mill relationship issues with company management for resolution
  • Responsible for managing accounts receivables
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned by management

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Previous pallet or forest product sales experience preferred
  • Must be able to travel overnight
  • Advanced product and customer service knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong technical skills, including email (Outlook), word and Excel software;
  • Basic knowledge of Pallet Design Software
  • Moderate to high level of independent judgment required
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects/tasks/priorities
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public
  • Strong sense of urgency and proven track record of success
