·

Recently, Kamps Inc., a national pallet company headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, had the distinct honor of hosting Congresswoman Hillary Scholten at our flagship facility. This visit, facilitated by the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association (NWPCA), served as a crucial opportunity to showcase the significant contributions of Kamps and the broader pallet industry to our local community and national supply chains.

Congresswoman Scholten and her team were given an in-depth tour of our Grand Rapids facility, witnessing firsthand the intricate processes involved in pallet manufacturing, repair, and recycling. We demonstrated how our operations directly support the flow of goods through West Michigan. From the sourcing of raw materials to the final distribution of finished pallets, every step underscores the essential role the pallet industry plays in keeping supply chains moving.

Our commitment to sustainable practices, including pallet recycling and reuse, was also a focal point, demonstrating our dedication to environmental stewardship.

” It was nice to welcome Congresswoman Scholten and her team to Kamps. This visit allowed us to illustrate the vital connection between our industry and the everyday movement of goods. We are proud to be a significant employer in Grand Rapids and a key player in supporting the supply chains that benefit our community and the nation. “ – Justin Kamps, VP of Operations for Kamps and member of the NWPCA Board of Directors

” The National Wooden Pallet and Container Association remains committed to building meaningful relationships between our members and lawmakers. Through our activities in Washington, DC, and around the country, such as Congressional plant tours, we work to ensure that legislators across the political spectrum fully understand the critical role the wooden transport packaging industry plays in the supply chain by enabling safe and efficient shipment of goods and supporting the growth of manufacturing and the global economy. ” – Jason Ortega, Vice President of Public Affairs for the NWPCA

We are grateful for Congresswoman Scholten’s interest in our operations and her commitment to understanding the challenges and opportunities facing our industry. This visit reinforces the importance of collaboration between businesses and government to ensure the continued strength and resilience of our supply chains. By providing a platform for dialogue and education, NWPCA’s initiative to connect pallet companies and government officials is helping to ensure that policymakers from both sides of the political spectrum understand the critical role the pallet industry plays in the broader economy.

Kamps remains dedicated to serving our community, providing quality products and services, and contributing to the economic vitality of West Michigan. We look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with our elected officials and stakeholders.
