At the age of 17 Mitchell began his career at Kamps working in our Pallet Repair department. Many would see this as the beginning of his journey to becoming President, but one would actually have to go back much further than that to see the true start. By the time he was 12 years old, Mitchell was working at a local vegetable farm and greenhouse operation from spring to late fall in all weather conditions. Mitchell credits this experience with teaching him how to work hard and how to seize every opportunity. These are lessons that have served him well in getting to where he is today.
In addition to his role as a pallet repairman, Mitchell has been employed at Kamps as a mulch salesman, a wood resource manager, the plant manager of our Niles location, Regional Sales Manager, Vice President of Sales, and Executive Vice President of Sales and Operations. These positions have allowed Mitchell to gain experience and accumulate knowledge in many different areas of the business.
In his current role, Mitchell enjoys the diversity and variety of tasks that he is responsible for. He is passionate about delivering on our customer’s expectations while striving to exceed them each day. This lends itself well to Kamps’ commitment to provide top notch customer service, and he is committed to supporting his team members. Outside of work, you can find Mitchell spending time with his family, on the pickle ball court, hunting in the woods, or being active in his local church.
When asked about his childhood career dreams, Mitchell remembers wanting to have a career in outdoor adventures of some kind, such as being a hunting guide in Alaska. While adventurous hunting excursions are still a part of Mitchell’s life, we are so thankful that he chose the adventure of leading Kamps Pallets into its next phase of business! Please join us in congratulating Mitchell Kamps and welcoming him into this new role!
