Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Packaging Engineer Intern to join our team this summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic business environment and contribute directly to our sales and new product development efforts. You will play a key role in establishing a new product development process and developing new products (pallets, special shipping crates/trays/racks, and unique bubble wraps). This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in package engineering, sales, and the manufacturing & logistics industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and refining the development and validation process for new pallet designs
- Conduct pallet and product trials at customer locations to validate product performance
- Create a system for capturing product specifications and approval process
- Travel with the sales team for customer visits to understand the requirements for products and the performance needed for the operations
- Participate in meetings and contribute to brainstorming and problem-solving sessions related to packaging design
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and production
- Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications/Skills:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Packaging Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with CAD Design and Excel
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Interest in the manufacturing or logistics industry is preferred
